At Johnson’s of St. Mary we are looking for employees who will work as hard as we do. Our working environment is fast paced and very energetic. Johnson's is less than a mile from the east entrance from Glacier National Park, and one of only a few eating establishments and campgrounds in the area. Thousands of customers visit Johnson's each season. The work at Johnson's is very demanding, both physically and mentally. Johnson’s Resturant is very unique in that it makes everything from scratch. Employees must be able to work well under pressure and have a positive attitude toward the public and other Johnson's staff. Johnson's has an outstanding reputation, and we expect our employees to maintain that standard. Johnson’s is also positive, supportive, and a fun place to work. LOOKING TO WORK IN THE RESTAURANT?

LINE-COOKS:
Johnson's is looking for highly motivated line-cooks (experience preferred) who take pride in their work. Johnson's makes all of its menu items from scratch. Hours of work typically range from 30-35 hours per week. Hourly wages begin at $16.00 per hour plus tips, job performance raises and an end of season bonus up to $1000.00
Job Duties & Qualifications include:
Ability to follow directions well
A knowledge of basic food safety and handling skills
At least 1-year experience as a line-cook in a professional kitchen (not required but greatly appreciated)
A strong desire to work well with others in a team setting
Receptive of feedback and willing to take direction
Desire to work cleanly and efficiently and execute multiple tasks simultaneously
Willingness to work hard and demonstrate commitment to the position
Able to effectively work under a high stress environment
PREP-COOKS:
Johnson's is looking for highly motivated Prep-cooks (experience preferred) who take pride in their work. Johnson's makes all of it's menu items from scratch. Hours of work typically range from 30-35 hours per week. Hourly wages begin at $15.00 per hour, plus tips, job performance raises and an end of season bonus up to $1000.00
Job Duties & Qualifications Include:
Prepare all menu items as directed in timely manner, following all food safety related standards
Ability to follow recipes using measurement, portions, and set procedures set by the restaurant management
Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of the products produced
Ability to prioritize projects based on daily need.
Ability to have multiple items in production simultaneously
Ability to fill out daily prep list
Tasked with tracking and reporting any food waste
Handle, store, and rotate all products and ingredients properly
Perform other related duties as assigned by the restaurant manager
1+ years' experience in a fast-paced restaurant as a production cook(not required but greatly appreciated)
Line cook experience a plus, but not required
Knowledge of food storage and food safety
CAFE SERVERS:
Johnson's is looking for highly motivated servers (experience preferred) who take pride in their work. Johnson's takes pride in their homemade food and fast and friendly customer service. Hours of work typically range from 30-35 hours per week. Hourly wages begin at $10.30 plus tips.

LOOKING TO WORK IN OUR CAMPGROUND/R.V. PARK?
CAMPGROUND FRONT DESK:
Johnson’s also hires individuals and couples with their own RV who wish to work and stay for the summer in our campground. The campground front desk position involves mostly working in our campground office (computer skills required), which also has a splendid view of the mountains on the east side of Glacier Park. Front Desk employees must have great customer service skills and the ability to successfully comprehend the online reservation system. Hours of work typically range from 30-35 hours per week. Hourly wages begin at $14.50 per hour, plus tips, job performance raises and an end of season bonus up to $1000.00
Campground front desk employment includes the following:
Cashiering, stocking shelves, taking inventory, assisting customers with checking out, and keeping office clean
Assisting customers checking in/out of the campground for day-use and overnight camping
Assisting customers and general administrative duties
Campground host-showing campground customers where their specific site is and answering any questions
Ability to multi-task and problem solve efficiently and effectively
Working in a busy work environment
CAMPGROUND MAINTENANCE:
Campground maintenance includes maintaining the campground on a daily basis. General knowledge in the areas of electrical, landscaping, small engine repair, waterworks, painting, carpentry and an overall “hand” is preferred. Applicant must be able to life at least 50 pounds and be in good overall physical condition. Hours of work typically range from 30-35 hours per week. Hourly wages begin at $17.00 per hour, plus tips, job performance raises and an end of season bonus up to $1000.00
General Maintenance Duties include: campsite cleanup, landscaping, trash pickup, restroom maintenance/cleaning, painting, electrical, mowing/trimming, wood cutting, fencing, ability to effectivly operate a backhoe and tractor, carpentry, assisting with various projects as needed, both indoor and outdoor. Ability to be on call during after hours is preferred but not a requirement.
CAMPGROUND CABIN AND COTTAGE CLEANERS:
Campground Cabin and Cottage cleaners will be responsible for cleaning all six (6) cabins and cottages, usually on a daily basis. Cleaners will be responsible for cleaning the event pavilion before and after events. Cleaners must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and be in good overall physical condition. Cleaners will also be responsible for cleaning the campground restrooms and keeping them clean and tidy and in an appealing condition. Cleaners will also maintain the bedding and linens including washing and drying. Hours of work typically range from 30-35 hours per week. Hourly wages begin at $16.00 plus tips, job performance raises and an end of season bonus up to $1000.00
Additional information about working at Johnson’s
Johnson's hire people from many different countries. All employees must have proper documentation for an I-9 form. This includes two (2) forms of identification; one MUST BE your original Social Security card. If you have a passport, it is a good idea to bring it. We are located 18 miles from Canada and you need to have a passport for travel between the USA and Canada. In addition, a passport is all the documentation you need for the I-9 form.
Employees work a variety of shifts, 35-40 hours per week, with one to two days off depending on the schedule. Employees are paid monthly (direct deposit available). All employees will be charged a refundable damage deposit. No single employee is guaranteed placement in a certain position. Johnson's furnishes all of its employees with Johnson's T-shirts that must be worn during business hours. Wait staff MUST have a pair of CLEAN jeans to wear during their shift.
Employees may be paid a performance bonus at the end of the season. The bonus is paid upon successful completion of the employee's term (as listed on application) of employment AND is directly linked to the employee's job performance. Food servers keep all of their own tips from cash tipped tables, as well all of their credit card tips minus the 4% credit card fee. If any employee leaves EARLIER than the ending date on their application, they will NOT receive any bonus (not all employees are eligible for a bonus). No exceptions will be made.
If you require transportation to and from the Airport or Train Station, a refundable fee will be assessed. If you complete your full employment term, the fee will be refunded upon your departure.
ROOM/BOARD & MEALS
Johnson's has limited living quarters available to employees at a cost of $10.00 per day for room and board (includes 2 meals per day). Returning employees are eligible for a living quarter discount. There is a $100.00 damage deposit that is refundable at the end of the season.
If employees choose to stay in our campground, a campsite (dry camp and tenting) and meals (2 meals per day) will be $7.00 per day. Returning employees are eligible for a camp site discount. There is a $100.00 damage deposit that is refundable at the end of the season.
Campground employees who are traveling in an RV, shall receive one (1) full-hookup site (30 amp), including one (1) meal per daily shift (terrific employment perk). No damage deposit required.
Room and board is deducted from the employee’s check each month.
We have living quarters available for males and females. We do allow overnight guests on a limited basis (at a cost), and we do not allow opposite sexes to share a room. All employees must furnish their own bedding and towels. Please bring plenty of WARM bedding as the nights do get very cool. There are coin-laundry facilities available at the campground office. Johnson’s does have bedding and linens for J-1 Visa students working on the property. Johnson’s does have heaters and bed mats in every dorm room. Please keep in mind, we are a rural resort and not the Ritz-Carlton. You’re coming to Johnson’s to get away from the big city life.
