Workamper Information

Johnson’s has been a family owned and operated business since 1955. You’ll find that it’s a wonderful place to work. We will work with you to have a fantastic summer employment experience. Our season runs from mid-late May through September. The campground has approximately 150 sites. We have 4 cabins and 1 guest room. Our world famous cafe seats 125 people and we cater in our campground as well. All employees work in variety of positions. In addition to Workampers we hire 20 college aged students. Following is a sample of duties for our Workampers:

* Cashiering, stocking shelves, taking inventory and preparing lists for goods needed, assisting customers with checking out, and keeping store clean.
* Assisting customers checking in/out of the campground for day-use and overnight camping
* Assisting customers, plus general administrative duties
* General maintenance duties, including: campsite cleanup, trash pickup, restroom maintenance/cleaning, various projects as needed
* Assisting with special events
* Cleaning cabins and rental units.
* Host/hostess in our cafe

Schedules are flexible.  Some workampers request 3-4 days off per week, others only request only 2 days off.  The average workweek is between 30-40 hours.  Enjoy one meal per workday from our world famous cafe. Employees who work 30 plus hours per week will be provided with a full hookup site. Employees working less than 30 hours per week will be charged $200.00 per person per month for a full hookup site. An hourly rate of $8.00 will be paid to each employee.  A pay laundromat is available at the campground.
